GODBER’S BOUNCERS REIMAGINED FOR THE MODERN AGE
Bouncers by John Godber OBE is set to embark on a UK Tour in 2019 and has been re-imagined by the writer for a newgeneration of nightclub goers.
Written in 1977 and first produced at the Edinburgh Festival that same year,Bouncers has stood the test of time with many a famous face taking on the iconic script as well as schools across the country and beyond studying the piece.
The play features in the book Played in Britain: Modern Theatre in 100 Playswhich was commissioned by the V&A museum in 2013 and has won countless awards including seven Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle awards in 1986.
This new production by The John Godber Company and Theatre Royal Wakefield features Frazer Hammill as Lucky Eric, Lamin Touray as Ralph, Duncan Riches asLes and Peter McMillan as Judd.
The play will visit 12 venues across the UK including Newcastle, Scarborough,Chesterfield, Peterborough, Harrogate, Winchester and Bury St Edmunds.Bouncers is at Northern Stage from 19-23 March and tickets start from £10.
