Disney on Ice

A guest blog review by Ashleigh Swan from Ashleigh Money Saver

Everyone loves Disney. We all grew up with Disney and we can all day we have seen at least 1 Disney movie. They’re iconic and they never get old which is why they are watched by generations of every family and will continue to be watched for years to come.

So when I got the chance to visit Disney on Ice again this year with my daughter, I jumped at the chance!
Disney on Ice is always magical, not just for the children who may only be seeing Disney for the first time but also for the parents and even grandparents who have enjoyed Disney for many years.
My daughter likes the classic films but her favourites are the modern Disney films such as Frozen and Moana. Whereas I like the classics such as Snow White, Cinderella, Peter Pan etc.
You can expect to see all of your favourites on the night where they will all do a shortened version of the storyline with plenty of singing, dancing and skating.
It’s such a magical and fun experience because all the children and adults are singing along to the catchy Disney songs and they’re all watching their flashing merchandise and eating Disney themed Snowcones and candy floss.
The skating skills are out of this world. Obviously, you’d expect high skills but it never fails to amaze me just how wonderful the whole cast is. When they are twirling round and round so fast and not falling over, how do they do that?!
There are plenty of lifts too, which is probably my favourite bits, I love to see the acrobatics they can do while they’re on dancing on the ice, I find it so fascinating.
My daughter’s favourite performance was from Moana who was a new addition to the show thing year and she seemed very popular with the audience.
I think my favourite performance would have to be The Little Mermaid and Frozen.
Both stories were told perfectly and the acrobatics in The Little Mermaid was outstanding whereas it REALLY snowed during the Frozen performance. Oh! And there was an appearance from the extremely cute Olaf!
One thing that completely stood out about the night for me was when they actually set the ice on fire at one point! How did they do that without melting the ice?! It was fascinating to see and added some fantastic drama to the performance.
If you have yet to visit Disney in Ice then I can’t tell you enough how amazing it is and you MUST visit as soon as possible, I promise you won’t be disappointed!
It usually comes around once a year so if you can’t make this year be sure to add it to your ‘to do’ list!
