FOOTIE fans who fancy their chances of picking a winning team have just hours left to sign up to a charity fantasy football league.

The league has been set up in support of St Oswald’s Hospice which cares for adults, children and babies with incurable conditions across the North East.

And players keen to take part have just 24 hours before the August 10 deadline expires.

The hospice has become the first charity in the UK to form its own fantasy football league, where players choose and manage a team of premier league footballers, earning points for how well they play in real matches throughout the season.

The team with the most points at the end of the season wins the jackpot, with prizes for the best manager and team name also up for grabs.

Not only can teams win a variety of cash prizes – including a £1000 jackpot – but, by playing, they will be supporting the vital work of St Oswald’s.

To take part, individuals, or groups of friends or colleagues must visit www.charityfantasyfootball.co.uk and pay £10 subs to St Oswald’s Hospice. They will then be emailed a special code to join the hospice league in the Premier League free app or website at www.fantasy.premierleague.com.

They then create their team, pick a name watch as points increase as their team plays each week. When the season ends in May 2019, the player with the highest number of points will be crowned manager of the season and win the £1000 prize.
