Dalata Hotel Group Plc has officially opened the Maldron Hotel Newcastle, the first of the Maldron brand to open in mainland UK
The new 4-star hotel, which is part of a £100 million development on the site of the former Newgate Shopping Centre, comprises of 265 bedrooms, four meeting rooms, Grain & Grill restaurant and bar and a large outdoor courtyard.
Ireland’s largest hotel operator, Dalata Hotel Group Plc,currently operates 43 three and four-star hotels across the UK and Ireland, with more hotels set to open across the UK including Glasgow, Manchester City Centre, Birmingham and Bristol, in the next two years.
The launch of the hotel, which was held this week, was attended by The Lord Mayor, Councillor David Cook, who officially cut the ribbon.
Over 200 guests were treated to a selection of food and drink alongside a variety of entertainment, including a performance by Kelly Hendry School of Dance, celebrating the hotel group’s Irish heritage.
Located directly opposite Eldon Square and just a three-minute walk to Newcastle’s Central Station, the hotel is ideally located for guests looking for a stylish, luxury hotel experience in Newcastle City Centre.
