SOUTH TYNESIDE COMEDY FESTIVAL 2019: ADAM ROWE
The organisers of the South Tyneside Comedy Festival have added another rising star to the line-up for 2019.
Adam Rowe has become a firm favourite at The Customs House, appearing at Jason Cook’s Comedy Club and as part of last year’s festival, before selling out his first solo show at the theatre on Friday, January 18.
The Scouser won the prestigious Joke of the Fringe Award at last year’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where he performed his show Undeniable.
The one-liner was: “Working at the Jobcentre has to be a tense job – knowing that if you get fired, you still have to come in the next day.”
Adam is delighted to be returning to The Customs House on Friday, July 12, at 8pm.
He said: “The Customs House is becoming a particular favourite of mine – the audiences there are always insanely good fun and I can’t wait to return.”
The South Tyneside Comedy Festival is curated by festival director, writer and comedian, Jason Cook, and is now in its fourth year.
He said: “Adam ripped the roof off The Customs House on Friday and we can’t wait to welcome him back with his brand new show. Tickets are already selling fast.”
Adam’s addition to the line-up follows the announcement of Hebburn lad Jason teaming up with Jarrovian Carl Hutchinson for the unscripted show Cook and Hutchinson Have Literally No Plans Whatsoever on Saturday, July 13, at 8pm.
Cook’s previous unscripted shows with South Shields comedians Chris Ramsey and Sarah Millican and last year’s South Tyneside Comedy Festival headliner, Johnny Vegas, have gone down an absolute storm in the past.
Jason added: “I can’t wait for people to see who else we’ve booked for the South Tyneside Comedy Festival 2019. Every year has gotten better and better, with bigger and bigger names coming to see what a perfect venue we have in The Customs House.
“It’s now become part of the comedy calendar and I’m getting inundated with requests to join us, although I only pick the very best – we don’t just let anyone do our gig!”
Tickets are £8 for Adam Rowe and £10 for Cook and Hutchinson Have Literally No Plans Whatsoever. Contact the box office on (0191) 454 1234 or book online at www.customshouse.co.uk.
