Some Guys Have All The Luck is a fantastic theatrical production celebrating the career of one of rocks greatest icons, Rod Stewart – from street busker through to international superstar!
Paul Metcalfe delivers an authentic and charismatic performance assuming the persona of this legendary singer-songwriter and performer right down to the last detail – from the distinctive vocals to the swaggering showmanship and sheer fun that have made Rod Stewart one of the most loved performers of all time.
The show includes all the massive hits from Rod’s incredible career, classic rockers like Maggie May, Baby Jane and Da Ya Think I’m Sexy through to big ballads such as Sailing, You’re In My Heart, and Tonight’s The Night as well as favourites from his days with the F aces such as Stay With Me and Twistin The Night Away and timeless Motown tunes from the album Soulbook.

Producers promise not to make this year’s Whitley Bay Pantomime Peter Pan too Blue…
Blue Genie Entertainment, producers of the hugely popular pantomime at the PLAYHOUSE Whitley Bay, have announced Antony Costa from the sensational pop band Blue will headline this year’s Pantomime, Peter Pan. Antony is set to play the evil Captain Hook in this swashbuckling adventure.
Antony joins the hugely popular local funny guy and all round entertainer Steve Walls, who returns to the PLAYHOUSE for his ninth year in panto playing the part of Smee.
Producer Gary Telfer said:
“We can’t wait to produce ‘Peter Pan’ this year; it is without a doubt the most spectacular pantomime of them all! It’s going to have the most amazing special effects ever. We will also have plenty of Pirates, Indians, and Mermaids too. This year is going to be our biggest and best year ever and we are thrilled to have signed such a high quality performer as Antony Costa. Blue are still hugely popular all over the UK and their last album sold over 2 million copies, Antony is extremely popular and he is also a fantastic performer; he has performed in many pantomimes up and down the country as well as performing in Blood Brothers in London’s West End.”

The PLAYHOUSE pantomime attracts more and more people each year, in fact most of the shows sold out last year. This year’s production of Peter Pan will run for 63 action-packed performances from 1st December 2018 – 5th January 2019.

From the birth of Rock n Roll through to the Beat Group sounds of the British Invasion and beyond, the show is packed with over forty hits from the likes of Connie Francis, Brenda Lee, Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, The Beatles, The Ronettes, Cliff Richard, Cilla Black and many more.
Performed by a full live band, featuring some of the country’s top musicians, this incredible show features excellent vocals, tight harmonies and an infectious sense of fun.

An all new show ‘Here Come The Girls’ brings an exciting mix of individual performances and group numbers with their supporting dance partners. The show will have a mix of Ballroom and Latin routines and has been choreographed by Patrick Helm, this show promises to be a fresh and innovative with amazing routines to dazzle and wow you. Patrick will also perform on the show with Dianne!
Dianne Buswell and Amy Dowden have established themselves on the hit BBC show Strictly Come Dancing and Chloe Hewitt also joins the cast of pro girls to make it the first Girls tour.
