With venues opening up and social distancing measures in place, it’s time to catch up with your bestie and their partner. So we’ve put together 10 ideas for a fun double date in Newcastle, that may bring out the competitive sides in you all.
In no particular order why not try these 10 Double Date Ideas in Newcastle….
1.Crazy Golf
Newcastle has a couple of crazy golf venues. The first to arrive in town was Mr Mulligans, situated by The Gate. It’s a 9 Hole range with a space theme. The second is Ghetto Golf, based in Hoults Yard. An adult-themed course, it contains 18 holes. Get your putters ready, and your scorecards marked. Who can beat par and most importantly win?

2. Simulation Shooting
Yes Newcastle now has a simulation shooting range. Point Bank Shooting has recently opened and I’ve been already. You don’t have to be into Call of Duty to enjoy this. The fun starts immediately, with a wide range of weapons available to use on multiple types of simulated ranges, from target practice to hostage situations. Who can gain the most points for speed and accuracy? You can read my review here.

3. Pool/Snooker
You don’t have to be as good as Ronnie O’Sullivan to play. My favourite spot to play is Spot White, who have a range of games Snooker, English Pool, American Pool, Table Tennis and Air Hockey to choose from. Pair up and see who can pot black first.
4. Cinema
With films being released again, you can give Netflix a break and head to the cinema. Grab a large popcorn and head to Cineworld at The Gate and choose from one of their many screens or head to Everyman cinema and grab a cosy sofa and relax.
5. Bowling
Why not get your clown shoes on and go Bowling. Get your strike on and see who comes up best at Lane 7. Play as a couple or individually and see who is king or queen of the pins.
6. Darts
Yes Darts, The Wonderbar has multiple interactive darts games you can play. Just book a session. No need to count the scores yourself. With different games to play to challenge each other, you’ll be trying to hit 180 and come out the winner.
7. Axe Throwing
A bit more adventurous than the above mentioned so far. Maybe home working has got you a little frustrated. Take it out at Hatchet Harrys Axe Throwing. Situated just next to Safestore on Forthbanks Again just aim and throw at the target. See who comes out top.

8. Escape Rooms
No need to compete with each other on this one, rather come together and put all your skills to use. Solve the games and mysteries to escape the room in time. Don’t get locked in forever! Pick from my two choices of Escape Newcastle and Exit Newcastle. Read our previous review of Escape newcastle here.
9. Go Karting
Yes, go for a spin around the track and pretend to be Lewis Hamilton. Go Karting will have you overtaking your partner at the first or last corner to endure victory at the chequered flag to raise that trophy and bragging rights. Team Sport of a variety of racing options for you to hit the track.

10. Cocktail Making Class
Teach yourself a skill, have fun and see who can make the best cocktail. You may be use to drinking them but now you get the chance to be behind the bar and show us your best Tom Cruisde impression. and… of course, you get to drink them at the end! There are multiple bars that offer this and so you can take your pick from. Including Revolution bar, Revolucion de Cuba,Slug and Lettuce, All Bar One, The Botanist and Jalou only some of the bars you can try this at.
I added this in as i’ve been to multiple gigs so far, with many planned still to come. I’ve had fun just being able to attend a live music event again. Safe and Socially distanced you could yet attend to see Chase and Status, Becky Hill, Joel Corry, Love at the Musicals, Jack Savoretti, The Lighthouse Family and more. Tickets still available for many gigs.
