Boil and Bubble – with double trouble over Hallo-week!
With Halloween falling on a Wednesday this year, a group of pubs in Newcastle upon Tyne, are pulling out all the stops to make sure it’s a ‘Hallo-week’ to remember.
The pubs will gradually be filling its walls with cobwebs, creepy crawlies and other spooky adornments throughout October, and General Managers, and their teams are preparing their most terrifying guises as they get ready for two weekends of scary celebrations.
At the Old George, Akenside Traders and Gosforth Hotel customers will be treated to all the Halloween hits on Friday and Saturday night, over both weekends. There will also be some frighteningly good offers on Dead Man’s Fingers Spiced Rum to enjoy, as well as shots of spine chillingly cold Jägermeister.
Percy Arms has secured some scarily good offers on some of their most popular brews – with Strongbow getting in on the fun with its CarnEvil promotion, giving customers the chance to win some spooky props, like the infamous ‘All-Seeing Eye Patch’. On top of this, Halloween’s unofficial ale, Hobgoblin, will be available for just £1.99. WKD cauldrons will be available for potions, in some frightening flavours, including Vampire Blood, The Purple Nightmare and Jaws and spine chillingly cold Jägermeister will also be on offer.
“I was pondering on which weekend we would celebrate,” said Cheryl Horn, General Manager of Black Garter, “and then a particularly bright spark – and fancy-dress enthusiast – on my team, suggested we do both weekends! And why not? Halloween is an excuse to really let your hair down – more than any other day throughout the year.
“So, come along to the pubs– for some FANG-tastic fun!”
