Crazy Creatures Pathway for animal lovers………..

Durham based mobile petting zoo, Crazy Creatures, have joined forces with local disability care and support group, Pathways to allow them to have regular access to the animals in their care for regular petting sessions.

The specialist service, for people with complex care and support needs, provides a safe, stable and joyful environment, enabling their community to challenge perceptions and flourish.

The Crazy Creatures teams first visit as completed recently at Pathways where members of the media were welcome to watch the service users enjoy the petting opportunities available.

With a strong focus on sensory therapy, Pathways are welcoming Crazy Creatures and their mobile petting zoo to assist in a therapeutic activity for their community.

Victoria Williamson, Centre Coordinator said;

“At Pathways 4 All, where we provide play for disabled children and their families, we love to offer something different in the holidays. We are very excited to have Crazy Creatures coming to visit us this half term and I’m sure the families will agree it will be something really special for their children to take part in.”

With over 30 animals from tarantulas and 12-foot pythons, bunny rabbits, guinea pigs and chinchillas, the Crazy Creatures team will enable the Pathways community to enlighten their senses through touch, sound and even… smell.

Having visited many care homes, primary schools and community group across the North East since the start of Crazy Creatures in 2012, the company wants to give back to the community that supports them.

Owned and founded by John Morris, Crazy Creature visits aim to be educational, therapeutic and fun for all ages and offers private parties as well as school visits and events to its army of followers.

John said; “We absolutely love what we do and it is a real pleasure to work with the Pathways Community and allow their service-users to enjoy the company of the pets we have.  Our first session was such a great success, and we hope to become a regular visitor to the centre and create a schedule of events to allow all of the service-users there to experience what it is like to enjoy the wide range of petting animals we have the pleasure of owning.”

Crazy Creatures has been an increasingly popular addition to children’s parties, charity events and retirement homes, bringing an exciting opportunity for guests to pet, hold and cuddle the animals.
