Dine On The Tyne to offer one of Newcastle’s most unique NYE experiences
The cosy dining pods will offer some of the city’s best views of Newcastle’s Lasers of Light display this NYE
The pop-up’s Asian-inspired menu has proved to be a hit with foodies this winter
The popular festive dining pop-up, Dine On The Tyne, is offering one of the most unique and memorable New Year’s Eve experiences in the city this year.
Located on Newcastle Quayside, the winter pop-up provides guests with spectacular views of the Tyne river and the city’s annual New Year laser show, all from the comfort of their own private, transparent dining pod.
Complete with indoor heating, a personal speaker system and free Wi-Fi, the custom-made igloos offer a cosy escape where groups of up to ten people can enjoy an outstanding menu courtesy of Ramside Hall’s award-winning Asian-inspired restaurant – Fusion – while looking out on stunning vistas of Newcastle’s iconic bridges.
The Lasers of Light display runs from Friday 30 December through to Sunday 1 January between 6pm and 11pm, with over 80 lasers installed around the Quayside area. The choreographed display – created by BAFTA award-winning artist Seb Lee-Delisle – will light up the Quayside on the hour, every hour each night.
The lasers will light up the night sky between the Tyne Bridge and Millennium Bridge while also being mapped onto the Sage and the west façade of the Baltic. Dine On The Tyne’s prime location on the riverfront opposite Newcastle Law Courts makes it the perfect spot to witness the breathtaking display.

Augusta Gilchrist of The Dining Society commented: “Our cosy pods are the perfect place to come with friends and family to enjoy New Year’s Eve with an incredible view of the Tyne Bridge and the city’s spectacular New Year Lasers of Light display.
“Those that choose the 8:30 pm booking will have an extended stay until after midnight at no additional cost. We only have a few sittings left for the rest of December and a limited amount of availability for New Year’s Eve so we suggest booking soon to avoid disappointment!”
Dine On The Tyne is organised by The Dining Society, which has established the pop-up as a mainstay on Newcastle’s festive calendar since its launch in 2018, attracting over 50,000 diners over the last four years.
Its fifth edition has once again proved a huge success. One diner described the experience as an “excellent night”, praising the food, service and special touches that contributed to the “uniqueness of the occasion”.
Gilchrist added: “Dine On The Tyne has been a great success so far. We couldn’t be happier with the delicious menu created by Fusion at Ramside Hall which has gone down a treat with our diners and brought something different to the experience this year.”
Hosting up to ten guests per pod, diners will have the chance to enjoy a banquet over an hour and a half. The experience is priced at £45 per person for bookings of 6 people and over. Each booking requires a £100 deposit with the remainder of the bill to be paid at the end of the meal.
