Experience an Easter foodie treat at SIX Rooftop

SIX Rooftop at The Baltic is pulling out all the stops this Easter so foodies can savour this underrated occasion in the culinary calendar.

All too often overlooked, Easter should really be a significant high point in anyone’s gourmet diary. And one thing is for certain, Easter at SIX Rooftop definitely promises to deliver tasty treats for gourmands to get excited about, no matter what age, with menus to suit everyone. 

It’s at this time of year when we all start to breathe a sigh of relief with lighter nights and the weather (in theory) starts to improve, and a profusion of springtime ingredients appear adding a splash of colour and more than a touch of vibrancy to the plate, including new season lamb, early asparagus, artichokes, forced rhubarb and Jersey Royals.

Chef Director Greg Lambert and his team at the two rosette and Michelin-Guide-listed restaurant, nestled on the top floor of the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art, with its stunning views of the river and the city skyline have yet again worked their magic in the kitchen to transform the very best locally sourced seasonal ingredients into a series of deliciously tempting dishes. So, rather than making a mad dash around the supermarket to pull together a crowd-pleasing Easter feast, why not head to Six Rooftop this year and let the restaurant do the hard work for you?

Celebrate Good Friday with Six’s traditional fish supper, available from 12pm until 5pm in the shape of IPA Battered Cod, served with Triple Cooked Chips, Minted Pea Puree and Curry Sauce, accompanied by with a Schooner of Salt Jute IPA or Refillable Tea, priced at £20, or if you fancy elevating your experience enjoy a to elevating your meal enjoy with a glass of Laurent Perrier La Cuvée Brut Champagne, priced at £30.                            

SIX’s Easter Lunch Menu, served Wednesday to Saturday, between 12pm and 2pm, features an array of tempting dishes, including starters such as Wild Garlic & Pea Soup, with Poached Cod, IPA Batter Bits and Purple Sprouting Broccoli & Duck Ham Salad, with Poached Egg, Mustard Beurre Blanc. Mains include Herb Fed Chicken & Ham Gratin, with Yorkshire Pudding and Buttered Asparagus and Chick Pea & Indian Spiced Pie, with Creamy Lentil Puree, and Tomato & Coriander Dressing. Desserts include Madagascan Vanilla Crème Brûlée and Salted Caramel & Pecan Chocolate Brownie, with Roast Coffee Ice Cream. Simply make your choices and tuck in – two courses are priced at £25 and three courses are priced at £30.

We’ve got Easter Sunday Lunch covered too; served from 12pm to 5pm, you can pull out all the stops and indulge. Starters include SIX’s Brown Crab Soufflé served with Thermidor Sauce, and Pork & Pistachio Terrine, served with Toasted Emmer Bread and Piccalilli Ketchup. Mains include Roast Sirloin of Dexter Beef, served with All The Trimmings and Homemade Gravy, and Herb Fed Chicken & Ham Gratin served with Yorkshire Pudding and Buttered Asparagus. Desserts include Almond Ganache served with Granny Smith Compote and Super Greens Sorbet, and Brillat-Savarin Cheesecake, served with Valrhona Opalys Chocolate and Fresh Raspberries. Two courses are priced at £38 and three courses at £45.

Greg and his team have also pulled out all the stops to ensure the kids can enjoy a gourmet Easter too, with their own dedicated menu. Snacks include Crispy Macaroni Cheese Bites served with SIX Tomato Ketchup, and Buttery Garlic Pitta Bread served with Hummus & Veggie Sticks. Mains include Chicken & Ham Pie, served with Creamed Mash, Tender Stem Broccoli and Light Gravy, and Crispy Crumbed Fish Fingers, served with French Fries, Peas & Sweetcorn. Puddings include Sticky Toffee Pudding served with Toffee Sauce and Vanilla Ice Cream, and English Strawberries served with Milk Chocolate Dipping Sauce. One course is priced at £10, two courses at £13 and three courses at £16.
