Final wave of acts and stage times revealed for Lindisfarne Festival 2019
With just a few weeks to go until the fifth installment of the ultimate end of summer party festival, organisers have revealed the full event schedule along with the names of the final acts set to take to the festival’s 10 unique stages at Beal Farm later this month.
The over 18’s, 3-day camping festival, which will be headlined by Ocean Colour Scene on the Saturday night, Peter Doherty on Friday and The Showhawk Duo on Thursday, will showcase over 200 acts from every imaginable genre across its 10 unique festival stages from 29th Aug – 1st September 2019.
The latest acts announced to play the Musician’s Against Homeless Stage on Friday night include: Be Quiet, Shout Loud!, Josephine Sillars and The Manic Pixie Dreams, Shuna Lovelle and Sarah Connolly, while Saturday will play host to Atlas Run, Freeda and Fossway, SLEEPTAPE and Richy Neil and the Reinforcements.
The final main stage festival slot has been filled by local Northumberland band Anthony Vacher and The Silhouettes, who were recently crowned the winner of the 2019 MAH (Musicians Against Homelessness) Unsigned Band Competition after securing almost 40% of public votes.
“Winning the competition was an unbelievable feeling, and both myself and the boys are so excited to be part of such an amazing festival. This will be a huge opportunity for us to perform on stage in front of our biggest crowd to date. We cannot wait!”
Other acts lined up for the Lindisfarne Festival 2019 mainstage include: Gentleman’s Dub Club, Ferocious Dog, Elvana: Elvis Fronted Nirvana, Smoove & Turrell, Lindisfarne, Dutty Moonshine Big Band, Colonel Mustard & the Dijon 5, Louise Distras and Tankus the Henge.
BBC Music Introducing in the North East will also be in full swing at the festival again this year showcasing a range of emerging, local artists. Their 2019 festival line-up includes: FEVA, Nixe, NE Dons, Picnic and Club Paradise.
And if it’s comedy you’re after you won’t be disappointed. Hosted by Matthew Reed, Punch Drunk Comedy will be taking over the Dingle Dell stage on Saturday from 2 – 5pm with performances from Tom Stade, Louise Young, Rahul Kholi, Michael Holford.
To ensure the 5th anniversary event is one to remember, there is no shortage of new features for 2019 which sees the addition of ‘DeltaCity’ & ‘The Bridge Block Party’, two brand-new fully immersive festival venues as well as 2 hidden secret stages on site. Will you be the one to find them?
Festivalgoers will also be able to ‘set their soles on fire’ with a transformational fire-walking experience and immerse themselves in rhythm and colour with the Spark! LED Drummers’ kaleidoscope lighting theatre show.
In the spirit of the festival’s Vikings & Queens fancy dress theme, organisers are also royally thrilled to announce that some of the most sassy North East drag queens will be coming out to perform a one off collaboration at 8pm on the Saturday night.
Throw in Blind Fate (a ‘blind-date inspired’ festival dating game show with a cosmic twist), a conspiracy corner, and the return of the beat boxing Geordie Spiderman, there is certainly plenty on the schedule at Lindisfarne Festival 2019 to help this year’s event reign supreme.
And with the festival overlooking breath-taking views of Holy Island – home to the infamous Lindisfarne Mead, organisers are delighted to welcome back The Alnwick Brewery who have supported the event since its inception in 2015. This year festivalgoers will be able to sample a range of new and exciting products including a selection of meads inspired by non-other than the Vikings themselves!
Conleth Maenpaa, Founder, Lindisfarne Festival added:
“After a year of planning, it’s hard to believe we are now on the home straight with just weeks until our 5th Lindisfarne Festival. We are ready to raise the bar at every level and are now onsite working hard with set up to deliver just that. I’d like to thank all our amazing supporters and community of volunteers who really are the lifeblood of the festival, putting their heart and soul into making it what it is. Limited tickets are still available for anyone wanting to join the party. With so much variety on offer, we promise you won’t be disappointed!”
