FOOD BATTLES ANNOUNCE 2025 CALENDAR WITH VEGAN EVENT ‘FLOWER POWER’ FIRST UP AT WYLAM BREWERY

For the first Food Battle of 2025, 44Events presents ‘Flower Power’, the return of the big green takeover for Veganuary, on Friday 24th and Saturday 25th January.

Expect a weekend packed full of Vegan goodness: not just for the year round faithful, but also the ve-curious, and those who dabble in plant based diets, with dishes from the city’s top vendors.

With food served from 3pm til late on Friday, and midday on Saturday, and hosted once again at Wylam Brewery, this event kicks off the 2025 street food season, which has seen some of the largest and most popular food festivals in Newcastle.

Brought to you by the team behind Argie Bhaji, Battle of the Burger, Slice Wars, and the Mexican StandOff, attendees can expect the same vibrant foodie atmosphere. With a host of specialist food vendors, North Shore Coffee, vegan beers and wines, vegan fries, all set to the curated beats of One20 DJs, it’s a street food extravaganza not to be missed. Entry is free, and food tokens can be purchased on-site.

Attendees are invited to sample a variety of dishes from different vendors before casting their vote for a favourite on the Food Battles website. While every vendor will be vying for the top spot, only one can claim the crown! The winner will be announced the week following the event.

The ‘Food Battles’ are vibrant weekend street food festivals that champion a particular genre and invite the best restaurants, pop ups, and chefs in the region to compete in friendly competition at the infamous Wylam Brewery. The events are completely inclusive, dog-friendly, family events where everyone is welcome.
