Lindisfarne Festival headliners set to drive crowds crazy

Organisers of Lindisfarne Festival are excited and delighted to unveil the headliners for this year’s music and arts extravaganza on the Northumberland coast.

Bona fide music legends Madness and multi-award-winning drum and bass outfit Rudimental are sitting at the top of the bill for the much-loved camping festival, which will pitch up in its signature glorious fashion at Beal Farm, overlooking Holy Island, from September 1-4, 2022.

Making the announcement, which will surely serve as a catalyst for tickets selling out in record time, Lindisfarne Festival founder, Conleth Maenpaa said he was beyond thrilled with the headliners secured for 2022.

“We can’t quite believe we’ve got both of these acts at the top of the bill for this year’s Lindisfarne Festival,” he said. “It’s such an honour and we can’t wait to welcome them to the main stage.”

“The Lindisfarne Festival crowd ranges from 18 to 80 and we think in Madness and Rudimental, we have the perfect pair of Lindisfarne Festival headliners.”

“Tickets have already been selling really well and we know that this announcement is going to guarantee a sell-out… so if you haven’t got around to booking your tickets yet, we suggest you don’t hang about!”

More than four decades after their first gig, Madness have sewn themselves into the UK’s musical tapestry with a catalogue of songs sparkling about the stuff of British life, including Baggy Trousers, It Must Be Love, House of Fun, Driving in My Car and One Step Beyond.

Led by the inimitable Suggs, memorable Madness performances at both the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee concert and the London 2012 Olympics closing ceremony confirmed their status as cast-iron national treasures.

Riding high with Madness at the top of the bill for Lindisfarne Festival 2022 are Rudimental – the drum and bass collective who have been a constant source of banging tunes since their first single, Feel The Love topped the charts in 2012.

During the past 10 years, Rudimental have picked up Brit and MOBO awards, as well as notching up nominations from MTV Europe Music Awards and the Mercury Music Prize for their debut studio album, Home.

Small but beautifully formed, the independent Lindisfarne Festival has been growing in popularity year on year since its debut in 2015 and has built a reputation for being the ultimate end of summer party for grown-ups (the event is strictly over 18s only).

The 7th Lindisfarne Festival will see thousands of good-time seekers descend upon one of the UK’s most stunning festival settings, overlooking the majestic Holy Island on the Northumberland coast.

Madness and Rudimental will be joined on the bill by a crowd of acts, continuing the Festival’s reputation for bringing together a melting pot of musical genres, offering lots to love for everyone lucky enough to bag themselves a ticket.

Festival namesakes and North East legends, Lindisfarne are among the 200+ musicians and performing artists who will be taking to the Festival’s 10 distinct stages alongside the likes of Slamboree, Elvana, Roni Size, Dub Pistols, Baby D, Smoove and Turrell, Slipmatt, Colonel Mustard and the Dijon 5, Norman Jay MBE, OMG It’s the Church, The Allergies, The Skapones, Bass Generator, Warmduscher, K-Klass and Millie Manders and The Shutup.

Alongside the music, there will be a diverse programme of creative workshops, stand-up comedy, spoken word, yoga and holistic therapies on offer as well as glamping packages for those who like a bit of luxury woven into their festival experience.

Conleth said: “It’s often said that things are going to be ‘bigger and better than ever’ but we truly believe that Lindisfarne Festival continues to build on its success, and every year we make it our business to embrace our ambition and take things up a gear.

“Having Madness and Rudimental leading the charge for the 2022 event is a shining example of this and we can’t wait to see Lindisfarne crowds going crazy in front of them.”
