Live Theatre

Live Theatre has an international reputation as a new writing theatre. As well as producing and presenting new plays, it seeks out and nurtures creative talent.

Located near the centre of Newcastle, Live Theatre is located on Broad Chare next to the Law Courts, just off the quayside.  Just a short 10 minute walk from Monument, Central Station and Manors Metro Stations. The Q3 bright yellow QuayLink bus service stops opposite the Law Courts, just a 2 minute walk to Live Theatre.  It runs every 10 minutes during the day and around every 20 minutes during the evenings.

Parking is available in the nearby Quayside car park which is free after 5pm Mon-Sat and after 6pm Sun. There is on street parking available in the surrounding streets which is also free after 5pm.

Live Theatre has two performance spaces, the theatre and the studio in which to enjoy a performance.

With an intimate feel their venue the theatre has a capacity of up to 170 and offers unique surroundings in which to enjoy a performance.

Live Theatre’s studio is located on the third floor, It is usually a mix of cabaret tables and fixed seating, and sometimes a raised bank of fixed seating.

Live Theatre’s Bar and Undercroft which opens one hour before a performance, serving drinks, hot beverages, snacks and ice cream.

You can take drinks from our bar into the theatre for the performance and also order drinks to be ready for you in the interval. The bar remains open after a performance.

Being positioned in the quayside area there are also a host of nearby restaurants, cafes, and bars to choose from.  As well as many hotels and apartments for guests from further afield.
