Street food is back on the menu at Newcastle art gallery
The Biscuit Factory art, craft and design gallery in Newcastle’s Ouseburn welcomes back its Artisan Social events this autumn and winter, dishing up street food from a host of local vendors.
Following the success of its summer-long event, Artisan Social returns on 18 September with a different foodie pop up and bar every Wednesday 5pm until 9pm; running until 18 December.
From wood fired pizzas and the classic Middlesbrough parmo to vegan junk food – Artisan Social will offer diners a tasty and affordable mid-week treat, with food and drink available for less than a tenner.
The event’s line-up includes:
Fire & Dough – Neapolitan-style wood fired pizzas
Phi Pie – authentic Greek gyros, traditional tzatziki sauce and halloumi
Parm-O-Rama – classic chicken parmo dishes
Grumpy Panda – American style vegan burgers and desserts
Dosa Kitchen – authentic and inventive South Indian cuisine
Rachel Brown, General Manager of The Biscuit Factory said: “What better way to show off our new social space than with relaxed and informal street food. Working with the best of the region’s vendors, our Artisan Socials are perfect for foodies, or as a gathering place to meet pals or family for a mid-week bite to eat that’s affordable and delicious.”
Hosted in The Biscuit Factory’s all-new social space, Artisan, the venue boasts a new specially commissioned 30-ft wall mural from figurative artist Dan Cimmermann and will also play host to a neon light gallery showcase from Yorkshire-based Light Up North this winter.
The space is also available to hire out for private parties, personal feasts and wedding ceremonies and receptions, accommodating between 40 and 80 guests.
