Newcastle boutique sketches out charity fashion show at local gallery
A Jesmond fashion boutique is curating a new partnership with a local art gallery to host a charity fashion show this autumn.
Salisa boutique, who specialise in casual glamour clothing and accessories, will unveil their new seasonal collection at The Biscuit Factory art, craft and design gallery in the Ouseburn on Thursday 26 September, 6-10pm.
Proceeds from tickets sales and a raffle will be donated to Maggie’s – a charity that provides free practical, emotional and social support to people with cancer and their family and friends.
Guests will enjoy a Champagne reception on arrival followed by a light supper of seasonal bowl food and sweet treats from The Biscuit Factory’s in-house catering team.
The fashion show, styled by Salisa owner Lisa Mirza, will spotlight the boutique’s one-sized clothing from Italy and France, selected brand clothing only available at Salisa, as well as unveiling their own brand of Salisa scarves and wraps.
Space NK, Jesmond Dene House, YogaSis and other businesses will also be hosting promotional pop ups on the night. Plus, scarves, wraps, vouchers and goodie bags will be up for grabs in an exclusive raffle.
Lisa explained: “I have always wanted to host a fashion show as I have many amazing images of my late mother who was a catwalk model in the 1950s. My aim is to have a fabulous night of fashion where customers can enjoy the lovely atmosphere of The Biscuit Factory, together with a fashion show, meeting and supporting local businesses and, most importantly, supporting Maggie’s – a charity that’s close to my heart.”
Rachel Brown, General Manager of The Biscuit Factory, added: “It’s great to work with another independent local business bringing together the worlds of fashion and art. To raise funds for a charity whose invaluable work means such a great deal to so many people, is very rewarding. So I encourage you to grab your friends and family and support this great event!”
