Sam Fender performed to an intimate crowd at the O2 City Hall Newcastle on Tuesday night exclusively for Priority customers with all ticket sales, toppling £133,725, given to North East Homeless, a local based charity.
Sam performed at O2 City Hall Newcastle to an intimate crowd made up exclusively of Virgin Media and O2 customers courtesy of Priority from O2 with 1,750 lucky winners able to gain access to one of the most-anticipated performances of the year.
As well as an excited local crowd, there were a number of Newcastle United players including Dan Burn who were amongst a host of famous faces spotted at the gig. Sam delighted the crowd with top tracks from his latest album Seventeen Going Under as well as Hypersonic Missiles.
All the proceeds from the tickets, exclusively sold via a ballot on Priority, went directly to Sam’s chosen charity, North East Homeless. Sam was recently named as a patron of the charity which provides training, support – including food and emergency equipment – and employment for people who are experiencing homelessness or who have lived through such hardships.
Sam Fender, said:
“It’s been an honour to be able to put on such a special show in my hometown and to raise such a huge amount of money for North East Homeless. I hope it will make a real difference to those in need. Massive thanks to O2 and to everyone involved and to all the fans who entered the ballot. For anyone who missed out this time, we’ll be back in the toon again next year.”
Brian Burridge, Founder of North East Homeless, said:
“We’re so honoured and blown away by what Sam and his team are doing for North East Homeless, Sam has always supported us and helps us when we are challenging for change. O2 City Hall is iconic in the North East, we still can’t believe this is all happening.”
The gig is just one of many live experiences offered on the Priority app which gives Virgin Media and O2 customers access to once-in-a-lifetime experiences, daily treats and exclusive access to the UK’s hottest gigs via the popular rewards app at no extra cost.
