ANARCHY, AS ELVANA GET SET TO ROCK HALLOWEEN…

A NEWCASTLE Elvis and Nirvana crossover band is set to raise the roof at a Tyneside brewery on Halloween.

Elvana – which has played at Glastonbury and has been marked by music buffs as one to watch – will play Heaton-based Anarchy Brewery on Saturday 31 October.

And fans are invited to dress to impress – as Elvis, Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain or any one of their rock or horror heroes for a night of grunge and a little Elvis stardust.

The group, which formed in 2014, performs the music of American grunge band Nirvana in the style of an Elvis impersonator in “a respectful tribute” to both artists and genres.

And the festival favourites are heading to Heaton with a cv which includes sets at Glastonbury inn 2022 and the 2023 Download Festival.

Fans will be able to snap up their merchandise along with an ale named Suspicious Never Minds, created specially for the event and available in keg or can.

The venue, which produces some of the region’s best loved ales – such as Wor Beer and Shearer’s 260 – is renowned for attracting some of the best alternative live bands on the global music scene.

On Sunday 8 November it is the turn of New York heavy metal band Car Bomb – known for their extremely aggressive approach to metal – with Dub Pistols bringing their big beat repertoire on Friday 13 November.
