ONE of Tyneside’s leading restaurants is giving diners the chance to sample eight, Michelin standard delicacies, with a newly introduced tasting menu.
Lovage, at Jesmond, has received national acclaim for both its set and à la carte menus and been listed in the prestigious Michelin Guide for four consecutive years.
And the new menu showcases its commitment to using the highest quality, non-processed ingredients in simple but elegant dishes.

To accompany it, there is currently a complimentary wine flight worth £49 with all tasting menus reservations made for between midday and 2pm and prior to 5.45pm Thursday to Saturday.
Called A Taste of Lovage, the menu starts with a canapé of gazpacho with beef tartare and madeleines, which, for those opting for the wine flight, is matched with Jacques Boncoeur Champagne.
This is followed by a fish course of lobster bisque with sea salad, paired with a muscadet from the Loire Valley.
A vegetable dish of Jersey Royals with broad bean and girolle mushrooms can then be enjoyed with a glass of chardonnay from France’s Ardeche region.
Next is a serving of bass with potato, smoked haddock and citrus buttermilk with Gargenega; a white Italian wine from the Veneto region of North East Italy, followed by rabbit raviolo with consommé with an optional glass of Spanish Rioja.

Fillet steak with asparagus and truffle jus, is served next, paired with Malbec and followed by a strawberry and gooseberry sorbet palate cleanser before a dessert of honey mascarpone with pistachio and cherry, matched with a Sauternes from Bordeaux.

The tasting menu costs £100 per person with an optional £49 additional charge for the wine flight.
And a cheese board served with Italian carta di musica flatbread crackers is available for an additional £12.
Chef patron Kleo Tabaku, who also owns Osters at Gosforth, said the tasting menu had been introduced to appeal to those “who wanted to try a little of everything.
“This way, they can sample a wide range of ingredients and dishes – and wines, if they choose to – at a purse friendly price,” he said.
The menu can be altered to suit specific dietary requirements and it is available with the complimentary wine flight between noon and 2pm and prior to 5.45pm Thursday to Saturday.
