NE Volume 100th Edition Weekender at NE Volume Music Bar
NE Volume are so, so, so pleased to reveal the full line-up for the 100th Edition Weekender of NE
Volume magazine, taking place between Friday 27 th and Sunday 29 th July at NE
Volume Music Bar in Stockton.
This magazine has now been in production for over eight years and what better way is there
to celebrate such a momentous occasion than by putting the spotlight firmly on artists right
here in the North East?
Headlining Friday’s event is none other than North East native Ross Millard (of The Futureheads) who will be playing a special DJ set filled with bangers from across the worlds of alt-pop, post-punk, indie and northern soul. Support comes from Teesside alt-indie/pop band Komparrison and indie outfit, Jen Dixon.
On Saturday and Sunday, we’ve put together a line-up that showcases some brand new talent
as well as some golden oldies (sorry, The Purnells, Weathership and Alistair James – I’m looking at you)…or should we just call them, experienced?
Saturday’s line-up includes headliners Dossers (winners of the NE Volume Music Bar Battle
of the Bands competition in 2023), Teesside alt-rock two-piece Mascara’s Lies, indie-rock
band Risco (formerly known as The Collectors), the aforementioned thematic dark and
broody outfit The Purnells, female-fronted high-energy rock outfit Redshift, funk rock power
duo The Bad Actors, and brand new Teesside indie/alt-rock bands Offski, Mark Anthony’s,
No Ripcord and Stockholm.
On Sunday, NE Volume are putting another eight North East artists in the spotlight, with post-punk/alt-rock outfit Beatnik headlining. The other bands making up this fascinating line-up include alt-rock
outfit Wingz of The Monkey (expect heavy riffs, punk antics and lyrics to shout back at),
newcomers The Wednesday Flowers (expect an adrenaline-fuelled and high-tempo
set), Maeve & The Trains (performing original punk riot grrrl bangers), Alistair James
(perhaps solo, perhaps full band – we’ll see), as well as the ever-energetic and engaging
Dog Counters, alternative conceptual rock band Weathership and singer-songwriter, Alex
Lyons.
