The Importance of Being Earnest
4 OCT – 8 OCT 2022 – Northern Stage
2021 Sir Peter Hall Directors Award-winner, Denzel Westley-Sanderson breathes fresh new life into Wilde’s sharpest and wittiest comedy: The Importance of Being Earnest.
This theatrical rollercoaster is a joyous celebration of the LGBTQIA+ people, drag performers and black Victorians that so often get written out of period productions.
Smitten with two women who only love men named Ernest, Jack and Algy create alter egos to woo them. Ultimately the truth of their deception is revealed to all, with characteristic Wildean hilarity!
