With the grand opening of the highly anticipated Argentine steak house Gaucho quickly approaching, here is what you can expect to experience, see, and taste at the brand-new Newcastle restaurant.
Gaucho Newcastle is set to welcome guests to their first North East restaurant from 11th March 2023. Bringing the restaurant group’s vibrancy and elegance to the city, together with their passion for the cultural and culinary heritage of modern Argentina, the new restaurant will seat up to 140 covers, with two private dining rooms, one seating up to six and the other seating up to twelve.
The restaurant will showcase Gaucho’s recent evolution in menus and design, inspired by modern Argentina and its global influences. Offering a range of their signature dishes, those within the Northeast will be able to enjoy Gaucho’s lunch menu, evening à la carte, group sharing, group feast, group signature, and Sunday Roast, as well as mouth-watering deserts and an extensive children’s menu. With an outstanding selection of 100% carbon-neutral steaks from Black Angus cattle, highlights from their lunch menu include a Steak Tartare, The Gaucho Burger and a Citrus Flan complete with a blueberry compote and salted peanuts. You can also expect to see a range of their signature sustainable steaks, with a selection of the highest quality cuts, sharing boards, and delicious dishes for both vegetarians and vegans available on their evening menus.
As well as promising a vast choice of cuisine, Gaucho Newcastle is also offering a selection of biodynamic and organic wines produced in the heart of Argentina. With professional Sommeliers on hand, you can choose from a list of recommended wine pairings for eachcourse, transporting you on a journey across the vineyards and pampas fields of Argentina.
Gaucho pledges to continue investing back in the community byworking with local food and drink suppliers, supporting charities,and recruiting chefs from disadvantaged backgrounds. Their team takes pride in the relationships with their suppliers as well as wholly understanding the supply chains of all their ingredients.Which is why they are committed to working closely with local Northeast suppliers FYTO and Hepple Spirits.
FYTO, based in Hoult’s Yard, is Newcastle’s first and only hydroponic vertical micro-farm, which strives to deliver the freshest and most flavourful produce with the least environmental impact, while ecologically minded Hepple Spirits, based in the Northumbrian hills, has been selected to bring their wild botanicals to Gaucho’s bar.

Weekday Lunches: Whether you’re looking for a midweek express meal or a long leisurely lunch, Gaucho’s weekday lunch menu offers a range of lighter dishes perfect for quick dining. Mains on the lunch menu start from £9.50, available Monday – Friday, from 12 pm.
Gaucho Lates: From Friday 10th March, Gaucho isbringing the famous party culture of modern Argentina to Newcastle every Friday and Saturday night, with resident DJs from 8 pm till late.
Sunday Sessions: Join Gaucho every Sunday from 19thMarch for a bottomless Sunday Roast complete with live music. Each week will see live performances fromsome of their favourite local artists, creating the perfect relaxed Sunday Funday atmosphere.
