The much-loved tribute band, hailing from North Tyneside, are to deliver a laid-back acoustic set of classic indie anthems along with DJ sets that will take a tour through some of the most iconic tunes of the era, including songs from likes of Oasis, Blur, The Stones Roses, The Verve and Happy Mondays.
The experience includes table appetisers on arrival, a main course served up by Hard Rock Cafe’s talented chefs and a full hour and a half of bottomless drinks, including a range of beers, ciders, wine and prosecco. The event will kick off at 4pm, right after Newcastle United’s home Premier League game against Tottenham Hotspur F.C.
Jordon Ditchburn, a spokesperson for Hard Rock Cafe Newcastle, said: “Hard Rock Cafe Newcastle are extremely excited to welcome The UKs number one Britpop Tribute The National Anthems to host one of our very first Bottomless Brunch events.
“HRCN are striving to bring more unique live music experiences to Newcastle. We feel that it’s very important to work with local artists and support the local music scene. Customers can expect fully themed food menus and themed cocktails.
“We have a whole programme of themed events and brunches to look forward to covering a range of different genres.”
Taking their musical cues from the legendary bands that defined the Britpop sound, The National Anthems have made it their mission to produce an authentic experience that transports its fans back to the glory days of British indie music.
Having grown up in the 90s as music fans, the band members toured the world with their own respective projects. After returning to their hometown of Newcastle, old friends reunited to form The National Anthems with the mission to remind us why we fell in love with the 90s and the musicians that made it what it was.
Jon Corbett, lead singer of The National Anthems, said: “Bring out those maracas and shake your tambourines, we’re coming for you Hard Rock.
“It’s our first time performing here, so we’ll be putting on a show for you man. Hard Rock is an amazing venue and we can’t wait to hit the stage for an afternoon of Britpop indie madness and a load of classics. I’ve heard the Champagne Supernova cocktail is mega!”
