Celebrity Vicky Pattison Brings Love to People’s Kitchen on Valentine’s Day

In a heart-warming celebration of love and community spirit, Geordie celebrity Vicky Pattison visited The People’s Kitchen in Newcastle on Valentine’s Day. The Friends of the Kitchen were treated to a special evening filled with red roses, a grand heart-shaped cake, and an outpouring of affection from the dedicated army of volunteers who tirelessly contribute their time to support the vulnerable members of the city.

Vicky actively participated in the event, which included a romantic meal of soup, sweet and sour chicken, and a delectable chocolate and raspberry pudding – all prepared and served with love. The atmosphere was one of joy and camaraderie as Vicky engaged with volunteers and friends, spreading cheer throughout the evening. Her

Jackie Boardman, a Trustee of The People’s Kitchen, said, “Vicky got into the spirit of the evening and mingled with our volunteers and friends, helping to give out chocolate roses and heart shaped sweets. She really cheered everyone up, and we are delighted that she has chosen to help us whenever she can.”

This wasn’t Vicky’s first encounter with The People’s Kitchen, but it was love at first sight as she initially attended during the Christmas festivities when she had the honour of switching on the Christmas Lights. Reflecting on her experience, Vicky said, “I’ve had such a fab night with The People’s Kitchen gang. They do such incredible work for the people of the North East. I’m so proud to play even a small part in what they do.

“Now more than ever the world needs kindness, so if you have anything to spare; be it yoir time or money, find something that you’re passionate about, that means something to you and do your bit.”

The People’s Kitchen has given hope and support to vulnerable people in the community for almost 40 years, providing crucial services such as hot meals, clothing, and companionship to those facing hardship. All staff are unpaid volunteers, and The Kitchen receives no government grants. Every penny received is dedicated to benefiting the Friends.
