On 1 September, Côte Newcastle will reopen its doors following a total refurbishment of the restaurant space – offering a refreshed, contemporary, French-inspired interior.
Côte Newcastle’s planned refurbishment is part of the French restaurant group’s recently announced brand evolution programme. Alongside a reinvigorated menu created by new Executive Head Chef Steve Allen – the biggest change to its food offer in its 15-year history. Côte announced the roll-out of a new restaurant design that will offer guests across the UK an elevated dining experience.
Guests at Côte Newcastle will find an elegant and modernised restaurant design inspired by classic French interiors. Normandy artist Claire de Quénetain has worked to deliver the spirit of France with a series of bespoke artworks throughout the restaurant. At the heart of the stylish and informal space is a brand new bar, where guests can enjoy an aperitif before the main event.
Diners in Newcastle can enjoy the all-new Autumn Specials menu, which celebrates the slower pace of autumnal living – known as La Rentrée in France. The cosy tradition marks a return to everyday life and taking enjoyment in everything close to home. It’s often celebrated with reunions between family and friends after a long summer apart.
What could be better than catching up over a feast at Côte and enjoying the Autumn Specials menu? From a Fig & Bayonne Ham salad packed with natural sweetness and served with a Roquefort dressing and beetroot. To Moules Normande, served alongside sautéed leeks, British Granny Smith apples and an organic Normandy cider cream sauce – not to be missed, guests can enjoy them as a main course or starter.
Another must-try is the Pork Tomahawk, with meat sourced from the family-run Dingley Dell in Suffolk and served with luxurious truffled potato purée, roasted garlic, crunchy French beans, and a smooth Calvados apple jus.
To finish the feast is an almond financier: a delicious baked French almond cake with blackberry compote, vanilla ice cream and salted caramel sauce. Guests can also raise a glass with an Orchard Sidecar, made with SASSY Calvados, Cointreau, and lemon juice.
Laura Dunbar, General Manager at Côte Newcastle, said: “We’re looking forward to offering our guests a revitalised restaurant when we reopen on the 1st. Guests have already been enjoying new and reworked dishes on our core menu, and now we’ll be able to offer them an even more elevated dining experience with a brand-new space and Autumn Specials menu we think they’ll love.”
