Exploring Newcastle's Entertainment Scene

Exploring Newcastle’s Entertainment Scene

Whether you’re planning a romantic weekend with your partner, or a night out in the town with your mates – Newcastle is your destination! This vibrant city has a lot to offer. Let us guide you through the entertainment scene in Newcastle and determine what options are worth your time.

Treasure Hunt

If you’re looking for a fun challenge with your group of friends, then you should consider a Treasure hunt. It is a unique way to explore the city, which involves following maps and solving cues, the tours can be found online and are not super expensive. Along the journey you can learn about Newcastle while seeing the very best of the City; Grey’s Monument, The City Walls, and St Nicholas Cathedral to name a few. In total it’s around 2.5 miles walking, but the game is flexible and you can take as long as you would like. I would highly recommend this activity if you have never visited Newcastle before, it’s a fun and easy way to learn about the city.

Go-Karting

Next on the list is Go Karting, which is perfect for race fans, or those simply seeking a challenge. If you head a little out of the city centre (approx. 2 miles), you can find TeamSport Go Karting. The venue offers go-karting, combat karting, and even virtual reality karting. There are two professionally designed circuits within one building: The first is more suitable for beginners as it is a multilevel track, featuring 12 corners and plenty of straights, so you can still up your speed. The second track is an interactive gaming experience, so you can play your favourite racing games in real life combat karts, truly a one-of-a-kind experience.

Cool Crazy Golf

Sticking to the theme of sports, crazy golf in Newcastle certainly will not disappoint. Although there are a variety of crazy golf venues around the city, my favourite has to be Junkyard Golf Club. The experience is quirky, unique and you have the choice between 3 different course themes; Bozo, a dystopian playground, Gary, a groovy scrapyard garage, and Pablo, a polluted paradise. They also have a great selection of drinks, making it the perfect destination to spend the evening.

The Theatre Royal

If you have a passion for theatre, embark on an enchanting evening in the Theatre Royal. Situated in the heart of Newcastle this theatre is classed as one of the UK’s finest and most historic. They have a wide range of shows, from classic dramas, broadway type musicals, comedies and Shakespearean plays – the choice is up to you. After the show, you can continue the magic of the evening with a stroll to the nearby range of bars and restaurants. Overall, the Theatre Royal promises an evening well spent.

Retail Therapy Wonderland

Shopaholics are spoiled for choice in Newcastle city. From a wide range of high-street and designer stores, to boutique markets and unique department stores, you’ll enjoy the retail therapy the city offers. The MetroCentre is the largest in Newcastle, but also the 2nd largest in the whole UK. Worry not if you’re with a large group of friends, as it has over 300 shops, with everything from fashion to electronics and homeware, and of course, if you prefer not to spend, window shopping or enjoying a coffee is a splendid option.

How to Decide?

Now that you’ve got a bunch of ideas, the next step is figuring out what suits your group best. There are masses of online reviews out there waiting for you, so make use of them. Think of it this way, if you were looking for mobile casino sites you would check the reviews before picking one; apply the same tactic here. Get the lowdown on the places you’re eyeing, find out what they have to offer, and make an informed decision.

And last but certainly not least, don’t forget the golden rule: have fun! After all, the whole point is to enjoy your city visit. So, whether it involves competitive racing around a go-kart track, failing miserably at a round of crazy golf, or living your inner Shakespeare at The Theatre Royal, make every experience your own. Cheers to a fantastic time in Newcastle!
