JUGGLING BY IAN SMITH, LAURELS, WHITLEY BAY 11th-29th April 2023

“This is your parcel. It’s not your parcel – that would have been too bloody sweet – it’s someone else’s parcel, but it will represent your parcel in this demonstration. This shit coloured coffee stain on the floor is Surrey and you are… you are… the knob off the deep fat fryer”

These days, sometimes, one job just isn’t enough.
Neve has three. When she’s not managing the world’s worst delivery company, she’s making cold calls. And that doesn’t leave much time for her job as a children’s entertainer.

And just when things can’t get any worse, her boss turns up with even more bad news. But all is not lost; she sees her opportunity and takes it.

An evening of laughs, happy coincidences and sticking it to the man, all at the coast’s most exciting theatre venue.

Creative team:
Writer/Director- Ian Smith
Cast- Rebecca Clayburn (Gerry & Sewell, Antichristmas//Laurels )
Adam Donaldson (Blyth Spirit//Live Theatre, Bard in the Botanics)
Supported by Laurels

“”The coast is a vibrant and flourishing community that hasn’t even begun to fulfil its creative potential.

Laurels is at the very heart of this, presenting new work to new audiences in a new way.”

“Juggling is about the 5.2 million people in the UK who have had to take on second jobs. It is estimated that a further 4.6 million will have to do the same if the cost of living continues to rise. (That’s 30% of the working population). While we don’t expect all 9.8 million to come to the show, the challenges of juggling
different roles will resonate with those that do.”
Ian Smith, Playwright
