NEW ADDITIONS TO THE DOT BAGELS MENU

A POPULAR Heaton restaurant has boosted its menu with some new additions, encompassing flavours from around the world.

Dot Bagels at Chillingham Road, Newcastle, is known for its handmade bagels, which attract food lovers from across the North East and beyond.

And now it has announced some new topping combinations encompassing cuisines form the Middle East to the United States.

To complement its existing North East Parmo it has introduced an authentic New York version with a breaded chicken breast, marinara sauce – tomatoes, herbs and garlic – mozzarella cheese, signature Dot sauce and rocket.

The New York Parmo is one of several new additions to the menu, with others including Shawarma Del Rey and Sriracha Slide.

Suitable for vegans, Shawarma del Rey is a jackfruit version of the Middle Eastern spit roasted spiced kebab with chopped salad, pickled red cabbage, a tangy, mango amba sauce and vegan garlic mayonnaise.

While the Sriracha Slide – also a vegan dish – is made from tofu fried in a sriracha, maple, sesame and soy sauce with pickled carrot and mooli slaw, cucumber, spring onion, sesame seeds and vegan mayonnaise.

A further addition is the Hallou-me? – a bagel filled with roasted mediterranean vegetables, halloumi, pesto, balsamic glaze and rocket.

And, especially for pizza lovers, it has introduced pizza bagels and pizza pops; small round potato bites coated with marinara sauce and topped with mozzarella.

These all join Dot Bagels’ existing menu where options include a selection of all day breakfast bagels and other American inspired offerings such as Boujie Lox, with smoked salmon and cream cheese and the Reuben – pastrami, cheese, mustard mayo, gherkins and sauerkraut.

Along with the Chillingham Road site, Dot Bagels are sold at the company’s sister outlet – Claremont Teahouse at Eldon Place, Newcastle.
