Little Theatre Gateshead

17th – 20th May 2023

Watch out! There’s a plant about in Gateshead this may and he’s gonna eat ya! Little Shop of Horrors tells the tale of lowly florist assistant, Seymour Krelbourn who unwittingly releases a force more deadly to the human race that a certain pandemic we encountered recently.

This May join the good folk of Caprian Theatre Company as they present this glorious musical written by Alan Menken of Disney’s Beauty and The Beast and Aladdin fame. and the now sadly departed Howard Ashman. With memorable tunes such as Suddenly Seymour and Feed Me (Git it) you will be thrilled by the local talent taking to the stage at The Little Theatre in Gateshead.

Taking on the role of the loveable but innocent Seymour is Andrew Howe alongside Lindsay Kellegher as Audrey. North East powerhouse Gareth Lilley is hiding in the wings for this production but provides his awesome vocals as the voice of the man eating Audrey II. The cast is made up of Peter Brack, Steven Nichol, Lisa Barnes, Andrea Riley, Lisa Hooper, Ian Mordue, Keeley Edmondson and James Fairchild.

Little Shop of Horrors is one of my favourite musicals and has something for everyone – a lovely story, the dreams and wishes of a beautiful but misunderstood girl, bums and hobos and a man-eating plant. What more could anyone want.

Little Shop of Horrors plays at Little Theatre, Gateshead from 17th to 20th May and is not to be missed.
