SIX Rooftop recognised with plaudits

Following the recent reveal of SIX Rooftop by Pneuma Hospitality Group, the restaurant has already begun to make a big impact with well-deserved recognition starting to materialise.

The Gateshead restaurant has just featured among OpenTable’s list of the UK’s top 100 most romantic restaurants. Compiled from over 1.1 million OpenTable diner reviews and metrics the list highlights the UK’s most romantic dining spots from Aberdeen to Cornwall, and everywhere in between.

But that’s not all, SIX Rooftop has also just been presented with a Recommendation award by one of the world’s most popular foodie websites, Restaurant Guru. Boasting over 30 million monthly users, Restaurant Guru’s awards are issued by the website based entirely on guest reviews and they can’t praise the iconic riverside restaurant highly enough.

There’s no denying the impact of Six Rooftop’s recent reimagination by renowned interior designer Julie Chambers. With a rich palette of earthy greens and greys, complimented by the careful use of wood, stainless steel and polished stone, all enhanced by meticulously  crafted lighting schemes, the designer has helped make a mark.

However, the space’s open kitchen, which allows diners in the main restaurant area to observe the chef’s theatre as they deliver SIX’s carefully crafted seasonal tasting menus, has undoubtedly played its part as well.

Along with the dedicated chef’s table for those who want to become fully immersed in their dining experience, the restaurant features a viewing lounge, a more casual dining space, serving up an array of delicious seasonal small plates, against a backdrop of breath-taking views over the river and Newcastle’s iconic bridges,  It also boasts an impressive sit-up bar, offering an extensive selection of thoughtfully curated drinks to complement every palate.

‘’We are thrilled to receive recognition from OpenTable and Restaurant Guru, stated Food Director Greg Lambert. It goes to show that we are already on the right track and that’s thanks to the entire team. We’ve got a lot more we want to achieve in the future and will keep building the momentum as we set out our stall to become one of Newcastle’s must-dine-at destination restaurants, providing guests with a number of dining options designed to showcase the very finest locally sourced seasonal produce.’’
