Due to on-going success of the annual “Christmas Tyne” seasonal dining experience on Newcastle’s quayside, organisers ‘The Dining Society’ have today unveiled a new venture which is set to delight wine lovers in the region.
Billed as a “traditional wine tasting experience in an untraditional setting”, ‘Wine by The Tyne’ will be landing on Tyneside from 2nd November to 27th November THIS YEAR.
Set to take place on the same site as Christmas Tyne on Wesley Square, families and friends will be able to enjoy an array of world wines in their own personalised dining pods before 2020 comes to a close.
Looking out over the stunning views of Newcastle’s iconic bridges, the custom-made transparent dining pods – complete with indoor heating, a personal speaker system and free Wi-Fi, is poised to offer the ultimate wine tasting experience in the region this winter.
Hosting up to ten people per pod, guests will have the chance to taste and enjoy four expertly chosen wines with their own professional event host, paired perfectly with a choice of one of the sharing boards on offer which include fish, meat, cheese and a vegan option.
Speaking about today’s announcement, Steve Davis, founder of the Dining Society, said: “We’ve worked carefully alongside wine and food experts to curate this experience and to offer an amazing selection of wines, complemented perfectly with great food in an unbelievable setting.
“We understand that friends and family are desperate to get together in a safe and enjoyable environment, so we decided to extend our stay on the Quayside and open our pods up sooner with ‘Wine by the Tyne.’
“Guests don’t have to worry about crowded restaurants and can relax and enjoy delicious tasting wines and mouth-watering sharing platters with friends and loved ones.
We’re expecting spaces for this to go quickly. This is a unique experience that guests won’t want to miss out on.”
The innovative dining pods were a mainstay on the Wesley Square site last year, and with most weekend slots now sold out for their Christmas Tyne event, the pods will expand The Dining Society’s offering with this brand new concept.
The Pods, which allow groups to dine in their own private restaurant for the evening, will be a welcome retreat for friends and families who have missed parties and special occasions due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Whether a novice or a seasoned taster, the wine tasting experience is perfect for anyone who just wants to have a bit of fun learning more, in a unique setting on the banks of the River Tyne with a view of the city’s iconic bridges.
Bookings will be on sale from Friday 10th July from 10 am.
