The New Bingo Hall is One of Many Recent Developments in Wallsend
If you live in Wallsend, then you’ll know how much work it’s taken to get the new bingo hall opened up. It’s now been open for a total of 8 weeks, under new ownership. The vacant shop had a planning application submitted for a new bingo hall, which would also provide slot games to users. Even though there was a bit of a battle with planning permission, it was eventually granted. Locals were fully behind the new bingo hall, and the new establishment is certainly drawing people from outside the area too.
The Rise of Online Bingo
Turning the vacant shop into a bingo hall has certainly been a wise move and a bold one. Bingo is on the rise, but more and more people are choosing to game online rather than gaming in-person. A lot of this has to do with the sheer amount of variance available when playing Bingo online. With games like Link Room, Flash Bingo, and Cash Cubes available, traditional bingo seems to be less popular as time goes on, but it remains a big part of local communities. In areas like Wallsend, having this kind of investment is helping to bring more and more people to the area. A New Housing Estate has Been Approved
North Tyneside Council has also approved 200 new homes. The homes are going to be located just off Station Road, with the development set to be the next phase in Fallow Park.
Members of North Tyneside’s planning committee voted unanimously to approve the new homes, which are going to consist of terraces, detached and semi-detached homes. The outline was granted in 2018 for up to 593 homes on the land, with the underlying caveat that up to 25% of them should be sold at a discounted rate. There is also the possibility that they will be transferred to a housing provider, to try and sustain the local economy. Money is also being allocated to sports, to ensure that there are plenty of local amenities for people to take advantage of. In addition to the new housing, there are plans to secure further investment in the area.
