This is England actor and UK Britpop band to perform epic Christmas special on Tyneside
Get ready to step back in time and rock out to the ultimate 90s Britpop hits as The National Anthems – the UK’s premier 90s Britpop band – and This is England star Thomas Turgoose head to Newcastle.
Taking place at Newcastle’s coolest new music venue The Grove in Byker on Friday 15th December – AKA “Black Eye Friday” – The National Anthems will return to their hometown, joined by special guest Turgoose – who will be DJing a host of indie anthems and Christmas classics.
Fresh off a triumphant headlining UK tour, The National Anthems are set to deliver a full-throttle performance. Brace yourselves for a musical journey through the iconic sounds of Oasis, Blur, Happy Mondays, The Verve and The Stone Roses.
Meanwhile Thomas Turgoose – known for his stellar performances in the award-winning television series “This Is England” is set to bring his infectious energy and love of music to keep the party going.
Thomas was most recently seen in the leading role of DREW in INTERGALACTIC for Sky, and as LEO in Rene Pannevis’ debut feature LOOTED, produced by BBC Films.
Prior to that, he was DICK GREEN in CREATION STORIES alongside Ewen Bremner, Jason Isaacs & Rupert Everett.
Other recent credits include AVENGEMENT, SWIMMING WITH MEN alongside Rob Brydon, Daniel Mays and Jim Carter for HanWay Films, as Geoff Lannister in HBO’s GAME OF THRONES and in TERMINAL with Margot Robbie and Simon Pegg. He also just starred in Shane Meadows’ upcoming series THE GALLOWS POLE alongside George MacKay and Tom Burke.
