Hotel Gotham Newcastle
 – the North East’s first five-star hotel – has announced an exclusive new residency with The Good Times Collective UK, bringing world-class live musicians and DJs to the city’s boldest new destination.

Curated specifically for Gotham’s opulent surroundings, the residency will combine both live performance and DJ sets, with each evening themed to create a distinct vibe and atmosphere. From intimate jazz trios to high-energy party anthems, the programme has been designed to reflect Newcastle’s party spirit while setting a new benchmark for five-star entertainment in the region.

The weekend line-up will include:

  • Latin Lounge Fridays – “Where the workday fades and the music begins”. Guests can expect a seamless journey through salsa, jazz and funk, beginning with a Latin jazz trio (Castillo Nuevo), moving into traditional jazz, and closing with an acid jazz DJ set.
  • Feelgood Saturdays – “From afternoon sunshine to evening grooves – nonstop classics to keep the good vibes flowing.” A ‘stay all day’ celebration, starting with the Good Times Duo, followed by a DJ set, then a soul and R&B trio. The evening builds into a two-hour DJ finale, complete with dancefloor space and a full party atmosphere.
  • Global Groove Sundays – “Global Groove brings together eclectic eats and infectious beats for the perfect Sunday vibe.” A DJ-led journey through afrobeat, funk and rhythms from around the world, paired with Gotham’s eclectic food offering – the ultimate laid-back but uplifting Sunday soundtrack.

Beyond the headline sets, playlists will flow throughout the hotel – from prohibition-style jazz in Club Brass, to ethereal backing tracks at breakfast, building gradually through the day into evening grooves. Every space, from check-in to late-night cocktails, will have its own carefully curated soundscape.

Phil Davids, Director at The Good Times Collective UK, said: “Newcastle is a party city and we know what people want from a live session. This residency is about more than music – it’s about creating moments that build and evolve throughout the day and night. Gotham is the perfect space for this: a five-star setting where music isn’t a side-note, it’s central to the whole experience. Bringing together artists who complement both each other and the aesthetic of Gotham has been a brilliant challenge, and I can’t wait for the North East to experience it. Our programme won’t be static either – it will grow and evolve as Gotham settles into the city and as we get to know our guests.”

Chris Thompson, General Manager at Hotel Gotham Newcastle, added: “From the outset, we wanted Gotham Newcastle to be more than a hotel – it’s a destination, an experience, and a stage. Partnering with The Good Times Collective allows us to deliver nights that are bold, stylish and unforgettable. Whether it’s a Friday of Latin flair, a Saturday party that builds from day into night, or a Sunday spent soaking up global grooves, every visit will feel like a celebration of sound and style.”

Hotel Gotham Newcastle opens this November with 57 bedrooms, restaurant ‘SIREN’, bar ‘FIRE’,  and the exclusive members-only Club Brass. Phase two of the development will follow in 2026, expanding into the adjoining police station with even more experiences to be revealed.
