Notion Live Events & NX are proud to announce that Nobby Solano is the first special guest to be attending the Euro ’24 England Fanzone at NX Newcastle this month.
Solano, an iconic figure in Newcastle United’s history, who played a crucial role in the team during his tenure, will be the on stage pundit alongside The Magpie Channel’s Matty Renton when England plays Serbia on 16 June. And right after that, the much-loved ex-Toon striker Mick Quinn will join the party at NX against Denmark on Thursday 20th June.
All fanzone matches at NX will hear a rousing rendition of the national anthem delivered by a series of in-house singers to kick proceedings off in true style.
Known for his exceptional skill on the ball, pin-sharp crossing, and remarkable free-kick ability, Solano became a beloved figure in the North East, where he’s affectionately referred to as “Nobby.” The current Blyth manager’s contributions to NUFC’s success and his close connection with the fans made him a local hero. Seeing him return to Newcastle, his spiritual home, will be a nostalgic and exciting moment.
As the city’s most immersive Euro 2024 fan zone, footy fans are bracing themselves for an unparalleled football experience as NX transforms into the epicentre of football fever, televising every thrilling moment of England’s tournament on the biggest screen in town.
Speaking ahead of Sunday’s game Nobby said today: “I might be Peruvian but I know how much football means to people in this part of the world. I’m proud to be back to my second home again and I’m excited for the challenge of manager of Blyth Spartans. But before that, England has the small matter of the Euros and I’m really looking forward to coming to NX on Sunday. I think England has a great chance of winning the tournament and I’m pleased to be part of the celebrations in Newcastle. Come on England!’
Micky Quinn continued: “Come on England, we’ve got this. Almost 60 years of hurt now. We need to put that to bed. We’ve got a great young team, loads of pace, loads of talent. There’s no reason why we can’t do the business and win the Euros in our old enemy’s back yard. Remove the shackles Gareth, let’s take it to them, and let’s win this thing once and for all.”
