The most famous race meeting of the year at Newcastle, Northumberland Plate Day sponsored by JenningsBet, is a two-mile heritage handicap worth £150,000 – the richest two-mile handicap in Europe – making it a must for racing fans. Last year, the race was won by Onesmoothoperator and local trainer Brian Ellison, who had always dreamed of winning the Plate race.
Following an exciting day of racing, Northumberland Plate Day will be all about the live music, with the popular Scam Fender taking to the stage on Friday 27th, and the ABBA REVIVAL tribute act set to wow the crowds on Saturday 28th.
For those wanting to continue the party after Northumberland Plate Day, there will be an Official After Party at Jalou Newcastle, the late-night cocktail bar located steps from Central Station, with free shuttle buses available to take guests into the city centre to enjoy old-school and modern Hip Hop, Dancehall, and R&B.
Ladies Day will once again bring the glamour, with a combination of fashion, fillies, fizz, and live music. The highly anticipated Style Awards will no doubt be a huge highlight, with the top 10 best-dressed racegoers crowned on the day, with multiple prizes up for grabs.
The grand finale of Ladies Day this year will feature the much-loved Bongo’s Bingo Party, which has built a cult following over the years for its fun and bold events across the UK. The party will include all the best music whilst giving out Bongo’s Bingo’s infamous prizes of celebrity cardboard cut-outs, Henry Hoovers, giant inflatables, and much more.
