What Can We Expect from Newcastle’s 2026 Restaurant Week?

Newcastle’s Restaurant Week is set to make a return in January 2026, and with August’s Restaurant Week being such a huge success, it’s safe to say that next years could be even bigger and better.  Based on the last few years, we could see a mixture of established restaurants putting on great deals, but at the same time, there are now some new restaurants on the scene, which could be offering their own deals.

Restaurants We Can Expect to See Taking Part in 2026

Based on the last few years, we could be seeing a mix of established restaurants and some newcomers. House of Tides, a Michelin-starred fine dining establishment, could well be taking part, and so could Terry Laybourne’s iconic “21”. As with every year, there are some international cuisines on offer, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Dabbawal, an Indian cuisine specialist, and The Muddler, who provide Asian small plates on Grey Street. With new venues opening all the time, could even see some fresh faces in 2026’s edition of Newcastle’s Restaurant Week.

Ultimately, Restaurant Week is about more than giving diners a cheaper way to eat out. It’s about giving visitors and locals alike the chance to explore the thriving culture of the city. Restaurant Week happens twice a year, in January and August, and with the most recent one being such a success, next year’s could be bigger and bolder in every way.

Discounts You Can Expect at Restaurant Week 2026

Traditionally, Restaurant Week runs set menus, given the number of people who dine out. People can have two and three-course set menus at a fraction of the usual price and cocktail and wine pairings. You can also expect special tasting menus, designed to get new people in the door. Some venues also offer early-bird seating deals along with sharing platters, suited to groups of people.
