The Official launch celebrations and welcome return of NE1’s Tiny Toon 2025, part of NE1’s Screen on the Green activities at Old Eldon Square, will take place on Monday, 21st July at 10am.
During the launch event, a group of invited parents and children will put Tiny Toon and all the other interactive play elements through their paces.
NE1 is delighted to be bringing back the miniature pretend play village at Old Eldon Square for another summer of free fun for families.
Tiny Toon is part of NE1’s award-winning, Screen on the Green, Summer in the City activity zone, which will be fully activated next Monday.
The Screen on the Green schedule switches from sport to free movies with a programme of over 100 free films for people to enjoy during the summer.
Old Eldon Square will offer a range of free family activities, including movies and the miniature play village. Additionally, NE1 is launching a new stay and play zone featuring seating and interactive play elements to complement the existing free activities.
A miniature play village featuring replicas of local businesses and iconic landmarks, the award-winning activation is back by popular demand this summer, open every day from Monday 21st July to Sunday 31st August 2025.
This year’s Tiny Toon will see the return of its popular Tyne and Wear Metro train, Tyne Bridge and mini–Eldon Square shopping centre alongside miniature versions of a number of newcomers – Tyne Theatre & Opera House, the Great North Children’s Hospital where kids can play doctor, Life Science Centre and a mini–Blackfriars Restaurant where little ones can play chef.
