Psychopath
Do you ever feel like you’re being watched?
Do you want your nightmares to come true?
Are you ready for a wild night of torment, twists and terrors wherever you go?
Well, Psychopath makes its return for 2024 in the lead up to the spooky season. After attending last year, I was so excited to head back. There is nothing quite like it and I love how they’re just expanding every year going from strength to strength. Once again, I left with my heart racing filled with a buzz from all of the adrenaline running through my body.
There is just so much to do at Psychopath so you need to make sure you get down early to make the most of all of the attractions and have time to visit everything you want. We were there for four hours and still could have visited even more of the mazes. Before you go, I suggest you look at the map and attractions and plan what you want to do so you aren’t left feeling disappointed. A reminder that there is a lot of walking on uneven surfaces too so sensible shoes are needed. There really is something for everyone and all of the attractions have different scare ratings so select at your own risk…
Lintz Hall Farm is just the most perfect setting for Psychopath. It is a huge space and provides lots of parking facilities although there are several bars inside if you choose to drink instead. As you enter, you are immediately blown away by the attention to detail everywhere you look. Everything has been carefully considered and placed to give the venue such a unique twist. I truly believe there is nowhere in the UK that is better for a night full of frights. There are plenty of opportunities for photos although, keep an eye over your shoulder because you never know who may join your group selfie…
The scare actors are spread throughout the Anarchy Arcade inside as well as outside and I particularly loved the Cheerleader who has returned this year- she gives psychotic Harley Quinn in the best way and she even headed into iScream in a handstand! The actors really are truly brilliant and make this whole experience what it is. A huge well done to everyone involved in hiring and performing alongside the makeup team who just manage to make them all look truly terrifying. Some of them may want to join you in the maze though is they take a liking to you as the Goblin did with me… as if I wasn’t terrified enough.
We first headed into the newly upgraded Doll House- The Factory which we loved so much we went a second time to try the other route. The masks and costumes in this were just spectacular and it was certainly jumpy but not too frightening for those who are a bit scared. I definitely would recommend this maze to ease you in.
We then ramped up the scare factor by entering Psycho City. It was still light outside when we did this so I feel it wasn’t as terrifying as it could have been – definitely one to pick up in the dark. I will say however, there maybe should be a warning outside for those with mobility issues as there was an unexpected crawl space within this maze.
Some of the installations weren’t available to trial on Friday – Cornered and Vandalised were not quite ready but Vandalised looks so petrifying I can’t say I wasn’t slightly relieved. They have posted some sneak peeks at Vandalised over on their Instagram so definitely worth checking out. It has the highest scare rating alongside Crawl Space which is a must- but it does need pre booking as it gets incredibly busy.
Thunderdome, The Hunt and Isolation are all back this year bigger and better than ever. Just walking past these attractions you could hear the screams of those inside – NOT for the faint hearted that’s for sure. One of my favourites from last year was Cutthroat Island and it is seriously impressive inside with the huge pirate ship and twists and turns. In a lot of the attractions there are smoke machines and strobe lighting used to create the perfect atmosphere but if you are sensitive to any of these that is worth noting.
The Blood Lust stage show is a must see inside and whilst you’re on, you may as well treat yourself to some delicious food from one of the many local food vendors- all totally delicious and something there for everyone. The stage show is truly filled with incredible talent from dancing, to fire performances to Poi spinning. I am always mesmerised by how beautiful they manage to look whilst being surrounded by fire- rather than me!
The Psycho Cinema is back once again with a slightly different feature for this year, Mind Control. It was absolutely mesmerising as the name suggests but definitely had me freaking out a little. We finished the night with IScream, my ultimate favourite, as I love clowns and I love that they have the Psycho Vision back where it records four different parts of the maze – this is hilarious to watch back and a lovely momento of your freaked out faces and me personally, running for my life.
It was such a thrilling and suspenseful evening filled with heart racing scare mazes, spectacular acting and perfect attention to detail with all of the props and spaces. What an outstanding job done once again by the cast and creative of this year’s Psychopath.
Get yourself down- you will NOT be disappointed but you may be very frightened…
