Tom Waits for No Man

Description: Tom Waits for No Man’ is a set of sensitive and compelling reimagining’s of the music of Tom Waits. Vocalist and composer Lindsay Hannon (“A voice soulful, brooding & unselfconscious in its longing” – Jazz Journal) has chosen and re-arranged a selection of songs from the legendary Tom Waits decades spanning back catalogue. From the tender nostalgia of ‘Martha’, the gospel infused ‘Picture in a frame’ and the variously, dark, comedic and lewd content of such numbers as ‘Pasties and a G-string’, ‘Christmas card from a hooker in Minneapolis’; this may be an opportunity to reacquaint yourself with this stellar artist, or perhaps discover for the first time, a few of the reasons that maintain his reputation as songwriter of international acclaim.

The Damned

Description: Following their formation in 1976, The Damned became the first UK punk band to officially release a single, ‘New Rose’, and an album Damned Damned Damned. With 12 studio albums and several UK chart singles, the band are pioneers who emerged from the London punk scene, earning an ever-expanding fan base fuelled by legendary live shows. Their dark lyrics and Dave Vanian’s rich baritone vocals also catapulted The Damned to the forefront of the Goth-Rock Genre. The Damned of today defy any categorisation and the ease of which songs from all phases of their career fit together in this ground-breaking spectacle is absolute proof.

ME FIRST AND THE GIMME GIMMES

Description: For the uninitiated, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes is THE punk super- group and cover band extraordinaire of 2024. Consisting of punk legends, John Reis, guitarist and lead vocals for Rocket from the Crypt, the celebrated scamp Joey Cape from Lagwagon on guitar, Pinch from The Damned, on the skins. Add to our crew Fat Mike, master bassist from NOFX and CJ Ramone from a little band you may have heard of, The Ramones, rounded out by the incomparable crooner, Spike Slawson. When duty calls for one of the Gimmes to perform with their other band, rest assured a traveling Gimme will step in. Jonny “2 Bags” Wickersham from Social Distortion, Jay Bentley from Bad Religion or Stacey Dee from Bad Cop/Bad Cop  are known to fill in and on occasion, Jake Kiley, professional stoner and recreational guitar player from Strung Out hops on tour too. Together, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes are an outfit that has always operated more like a beer-hall Pussycat Dolls than a regular mortal band. In 2004, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes had the pleasure of ruining Johnny’s Bar Mitzvah. They have since crashed another party and bring you Me First and the Gimme Gimmes Blow It…at Madison’s Quinceañera! After 7 studio albums, 2 live records and too many singles to count, they’ve tackled just about every genre under the sun. Be it Motown, Country, Show Tunes, Japanese Pop (sung in Japanese!), these seasoned punk rock pros have triumphed on every occasion in a way only the Gimmes could. With such an extensive and wide-ranging catalog, where does one begin?… With a live show of course! The powerhouse continues and they’ll be singing Corridos, Pop, Country and Motown tune all year long, so don’t miss it!

The Jesus and Mary Chain

Description: One of the most influential bands of their generation and beyond, The Jesus and Mary Chain mark their 40th anniversary in 2024 with a new album, Glasgow Eyes. To be released on March 8th by Fuzz Club, this is the band’s first studio album since Damage And Joy (2017). 2024 promises to be a bumper year for devotees of the Reids: the brothers will also unveil their autobiography, a documentary, and a world tour starting in March.
